What Does the Bible Say About LGBTQ+?

Dr. Daniel Olukoya . Episode 01 . 6:58

Praise the Lord. You see, um, the stand of the Scriptures on these things are very clear. Unless you want to deceive yourself, the Scriptures are very clear, clean, and if you are a believer in Christ then you must believe and follow the Scriptures. We do not discriminate against anybody, we do not malign anybody, we do not minimise anybody, but no human being is greater than the Scriptures. The Scriptures is the word of God. You cannot be greater than the word of God, and you cannot be scared of men and offend your Maker. So the position of Scriptures is very clear.

So I’m going to allow the Scriptures to talk, to answer this question. The Scriptures will talk. Let’s see the Bible. In Leviticus 18:22 – of course, you know that I did not write the bible – in Leviticus 18:22 – you can interpret it any way you want, but this is the stand of the Scriptures. “Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind, it is an abomination.” That is, a man should not be having sex with a man, according to the Bible. It is abomination. That’s what the word of God says here. And in the beginning, the marriage was between Adam and Eve. It is not a marriage between Adam and Steve. It’s Adam and Eve. In the same Leviticus 20:13 – I did not write these scriptures – Leviticus 20:13 – “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination, they shall surely be put to death, their blood shall be upon them.” That’s Scripture. You can say “Oh, that’s in the Old Testament, we’re in the New Testament”, fine. Romans is in the New Testament. Romans 1:28 – there are plenty more Scriptures, but I just want to read these few – Romans 1:28. “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful, Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” And verse 26 – “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature.” Women changing their natural use into that which is against nature. I don’t want to describe that one, um, but I know that if God wanted you to balloon you bum, He would have given you a pump to pump it up. Or to balloon your breasts – he would have created an extra breast somewhere that you can add to it. And look at verse 27 – “And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God now said “Okay, give them over to a reprobate mind.”

This is the stand of Scripture. But we won’t go on the streets condemning anybody. We will defend ourselves with prayer and with the word of God, and not get involved with it, and will not discriminate against anybody. So you don’t have to attack anybody, you don’t have to condemn anybody, this is the stand of the Scriptures. And we should not be afraid to say “This is what the Bible says.”
