Importance of Hearing God

Make fervent prayer a habit. So as a young person, the earlier you begin to key into how to hear from God, the better for you. You will avoid so many portholes at your young life and you will be able to make progress into where God wants you to go. You will be happy you did if you start now. Fortunately, like I’ve been telling you since yesterday, the scripture is very clear — I will pour out of my spirit upon all flesh. Your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your maidservants and men servants I shall pour out my Spirit on and they shall prophesy. Your old men shall dream dreams and your young men shall see visions. God is ready to bombard you with those kinds of information, and when you get into a level where you begin to hear God clearly, you become somebody to be respected. You become a spiritual high wherever you are. You don’t make horrible mistakes that you’ll be trying to correct later and you’ll see people the way they are if you commit all your ways and plans into the hands of the Lord and get information about what to do.

Start now. Don’t wait till you want to marry somebody and then you start saying “I’ve prayed, I didn’t receive anything”. If you didn’t receive anything then something is wrong with you. If God is not speaking to you, then something is wrong with you — if God is abandoning your life and he’s now transferring info about your destiny to a prophet who did not even know where you were born, there’s a problem. You don’t need to run to the mountains, you don’t need to runt anywhere to find the voice of God. God can speak to you right there where you are. God can speak to you in your bedroom, God can give you information — you don’t need to run helter-skelter seeking for people to tell you the mind of God about your life.

A lady came to me with a man and said “GO, this is the man I want to marry”. I said “have you prayed?” she said “yes”. “What did god tell you?” she said “I didn’t hear anything, I just have peace in my heart”. I turned to the man – “have you prayed” the man said “how do they pray that kind of prayer?” As he was standing there, I began to hear disco music in my ears, so I asked the man to please excuse us, since it’s the girl who comes to Mountain of Fire and I don’t know the man. So I asked the lady “can I give you some advice?” and she said “yes, GO”. I said “go and pray again. I will not tell you ‘this man is bad or this woman is this one’, go and pray again” — and once a prophet of God is telling you to go and pray again what they’re telling you is that what you are seeing is wrong. “I’ve prayed, I’ve prayed, I’ve prayed” and they got married. One day before this lady came home from work, this man gathered all her belongings — her clothes, her boxes, everything she brought to the house — and went and dumped it at the front of the Redeemed Christian Church of God where they got married. The pastor of that church was so angry that he wanted to issue curses against him – “what kind of insult is this? You bring your wife’s property to the church?” He said “yes, because I married her here so that’s why I brought her property back here for you so you you can go away with it”. She did not listen and that is the problem. That songwriter says

Jesus calls us over the the tumult of our lives’ wildest sea
Day by day His sweet voice is sounding
saying “Christian, follow me”.
